The Unit

For 14 to 18 year olds, the Explorers meet in the evenings once a week, at two places, Skipton and Glusburn. Activities are fun but flexible, allowing people to miss some activities, while joining others. These activities include bell-boating, gliding, climbing, hiking, night-hiking, pioneering, camping, and caving.

However, there's more! Explorer awards can provide a useful springboard for future careers, being worth even more than their equivalent Duke of Edinburgh awards. There are also fantastic opportunities to socialise, to improve skills and for teamwork.
